BreatheAmerica Hosting Open House for Local Leaders, Medical Community

El Paso, TX, 10/30/2013 – BreatheAmerica, a growing Nashville-based company that operates airway disease centers for allergy, asthma, and sinus patients, has opened a second El Paso office at 4501 North Mesa. Local leaders and medical community members are invited to visit the new state-of-the-art facility on November 5 from 4:30 – 7:30 pm to learn more about this physician led organization’s life-changing approach to respiratory healthcare that is helping people in El Paso and around the country breathe easier.

Studies show 75 million Americans are affected by environmental, drug, food, or skin allergies, asthma, COPD, headache, cough, and other serious respiratory conditions. El Paso residents among that number are likely to experience symptoms caused by the dry desert climate, air pollution, high ragweed pollen count and long list of other irritants.

However, patients nationwide are too often prescribed an ever-changing variety of pills designed only to treat symptoms before first receiving a definitive diagnosis and individual treatment plan that takes a person’s total life into consideration.

“BreatheAmerica is dedicated to bringing better healthcare to these suffers,” said Dr. Todd Funkhouser, medical director at the new center and long-time El Paso resident who served at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center at Fort Bliss as chief of Allergy and Immunology. “Often in just one visit, we can explain to you the root cause of your symptoms, provide in-depth education and design a plan that is not only specific to you but also based on the latest medical treatment options and technology.”

A staff of clinicians and nurses serves as an ongoing resource to help patients regain control over their symptoms and life, as well as educate the patient and family members in the process. BreatheAmerica utilizes a program that was developed at a leading academic medical center and refined in its centers around the country.  The BreatheAmerica team is committed to giving each patient extensive time and attention to thoroughly address their symptoms and to arrive at a diagnosis. The center also collaborates with other primary care providers and specialists to ensure the coordination and integration of care.

“Respiratory patients deserve the very best solution to their symptoms, and that is what we are providing at BreatheAmerica,” said Funkhouser. “I look forward to seeing the El Paso community at the event.”
