A passion for patient care

My name is Maddy and I’ve worked at BreatheAmerica for almost six months. Someone recently posted a blog on social media and the title was, “Can you honestly say you love your job?” Without any doubt, I am thrilled every morning to wake up and come to work.
There is a quote by Benjamin Fairless that I try and live up to every day: “What is the recipe for successful achievement? To my mind there are four essential ingredients: Choose a career you love, give it the best there is in you, seize your opportunities and be a member of the team.”
I love the people I work with; we all share the same passion for excellent patient care. The definition of teamwork can be found within these walls. I recently was in an accident and spent two weeks at home. The support I received from everyone is remarkable, and it is rare in most work environments. Evan though my immediate family lives far away, I have a second family here, and I have never felt so comfortable and at home. Not only is it a pleasure to work alongside my coworkers, but
I love having the one-on-one patient interaction, and hearing their responses about how all the employees are great. That is so rewarding. I was hired as a CT Tech, but my job is beyond that. BreatheAmerica cares about cross-training and broaden everyone’s horizons to enhance all aspects of patient care.
So yes, I can honestly say, “I love my job.“
