Named after a great aunt who was in Army Nurse during World War II, Mary Ellen grew up with nursing always on her mind. In addition to the stories she heard from that aunt, she was also inspired by her two siblings who suffered with chronic and terminal illnesses. These influences instilled in Mary Ellen a thirst for knowledge that would allow her to help others, leading her to earn her BSN from the University of New Mexico and eventually her Family Nurse Practitioner MSN from Franciscan University of Steubenville.
In her years as a nurse, Mary Ellen has worked in Oncology and Family Medicine while during her career as an NP, Mary Ellen’s focus has been in Family medicine, Internal Medicine and Urgent Care. Her career has been motivated by both her love of medicine and her desire to care for others in her community. While she’s always excited to expand her knowledge base, her primary interests are immunotherapy, surgical procedures, and COPD.
When she’s not at our clinic, Mary Ellen can be found running, hiking, doing hot yoga, writing, or spending time outdoors. She loves being with her family—two grown daughters who have followed in her footsteps as medical professionals and 5 grandchildren.
We’re so proud to have Mary Ellen’s talents on our team!
