Sandra Okere wasn’t always in the medical field. She started her career in banking, but changed her career path after the devastating loss of her father about ten years ago. Because of this experience, Sandra wanted to pursue her dream of creating a life that centered around making a difference in people’s lives. As a Nurse Practitioner, she now feels that she is able to impact her patients and their families lives on a daily basis.
Originally from Nigeria, West Africa, Sandra spent 10 years residence in Texas where she earned each of her degrees: her associate’s degree from Houston Community College, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Women’s University, and Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX.
Sandra has six years of nursing experience, with multiple fellowships and advanced trainings, in the areas of pediatrics, internal medicine, geriatrics, and OB/GYN. She and her daughter both suffer from seasonal allergies, so she sees firsthand how allergy symptoms impact our overall quality of life.
When she’s not at the clinic, she loves to travel and experience new cultures and food. She has been married for nine years and has three young children, and she loves spending every moment she can with them. Her core motivation with her work is to improve the lives of everyone she comes into contact with—no matter how large or small her role is in their life.
We’re proud to have Sandra’s experience, heart, and sharp mind on our team!
