Board Certified Pulmonary Specialists Join Physicians Practicing at BreatheAmerica  

El Paso, TX 4/11/14 – Dr. Erasto Cortes and Dr. Hernando Garcia, the most recent additions to the team of highly trained medical professionals at Breathe America El Paso, are practicing board-certified pulmonary physicians with more than 40 years of combined experience and expertise.

Dr. Cortes graduated from Autonomous University of Juarez, Mexico, before attending postgraduate training in internal medicine at Texas Tech University in El Paso. Cortes went on to specialize in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine at Baylor’s College of Medicine in Houston before returning to practice pulmonary medicine in El Paso.

Cortes, who has a deep professional interest in treating sleep disorders and cases of severe asthma, is certified by the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine, and is a fellow of the American Academies of Chest Physicians and Sleep Medicine.

Garcia, a native of Colombia, attended medical school at Pontificia Javeriana University in Bogota, then went on to receive training in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami. Dr. Garcia’s training in pulmonary and critical care medicine was completed at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami.

Garcia specializes in pulmonary hypertension and lung disease, is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and also is a fellow of the American Academies of Chest Physicians.
