What Does a CT Tech Do?

Marvin Marchael, CT Tech – BreatheAmerica El Paso Hello my name is Marvin Marchael; I am a Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech) with BreatheAmerica, El Paso. I have been fortunate enough to work with BreatheAmerica for nearly two years. During my time here I have had the excellent opportunity to meet and assist a lot folks visiting our facility. As a CT Tech, I help our Doctors and Nurse Practitioners with their evaluation of patients, providing real time imagery of the patient’s sinuses. The greatest joy I get is seeing patient’s facial expressions when they can see the images of their sinuses and actually see first hand what is causing their discomfort. In some cases, I am able to show patients that their stuffy nose really isn’t full of bad stuff. After their scan, I take the time to go over their images so they have a general idea as to what the sinuses do and how they function. This helps facilitate their understanding of the sinuses when the Doctor also goes over their scans and begins to discuss diagnosis and treatment options.
Now is an exciting time for us here at BreatheAmerica, El Paso as we get ready to partner with local Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) doctors. This will expose our staff to a new set of patients and will allow us to service more folks, while demonstrating our exceptional service and quality of care. From all of us at BreatheAmerica, El Paso we look forward to seeing and treating all those who come through our doors.
